A land transfer, a site closure, an investigation that reveals abnormal concentrations: soil issues always surface at the worst possible moment. And the questions are always the same. Who carries the remediation obligation? To what future land use must the site be cleaned up? What must be disclosed to the buyer, and in what form?

This one-day, 7-hour programme covers the legal and regulatory framework applicable to contaminated sites and soils in the UAE, together with international good practice, and how it is used in real transactions. It addresses the hierarchy of liable parties, the risk-based management methodology, disclosure duties on a sale, use restrictions attached to land, and arrangements under which a third party takes on the remediation.
