Description

Customer Debt Recovery: Securing the Receivable, Chasing Payment and Escalating to Formal Collection

Turn an unpaid invoice into cash by triggering the right procedure at the right moment

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

An unpaid receivable loses value every month: the dispute settles in, contacts change and the debtor's position deteriorates. Teams chase payment without a structured sequence, hesitate before moving to formal proceedings and sometimes discover far too late that the file does not contain the documents needed to obtain an enforceable order.

These two days take the creditor's point of view, from purchase order through to cash collection. Unlike a course on civil procedure, the thread running through this programme is a live receivables portfolio: contractual protection, a structured follow-up sequence, the formal demand letter, choice of recovery route and monitoring of enforcement.

Learning objectives

  • Secure a receivable from the order stage through the contractual documents
  • Build a payment follow-up sequence matched to the customer profile
  • Draft a formal demand letter that will stand up before a court
  • Select the recovery route suited to the amount and to the debtor's profile
  • Monitor enforcement of a decision with the court enforcement authorities
  • File a claim when insolvency proceedings have been opened

What makes this programme different

A complete payment follow-up sequence is built and then tested on a live receivables portfolio
Chasing letters and the formal demand letter are drafted and corrected during the session
The real cost of each recovery route is compared before any decision is taken
