Description
Financing the Energy Transition: Framing, Structuring and Presenting
Build funding packages for decarbonisation projects by combining incentives, debt and dedicated instruments
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
The energy transition is not limited to generation assets. Retrofitting industrial sites, waste heat recovery and fleet electrification all seek funding backed by expected savings rather than contracted revenues. Project sponsors often struggle to convince lenders accustomed to more predictable cash flows.
This short format addresses the financing of decarbonisation projects outside power generation, which is covered in a separate session. You will learn to quantify energy savings and then combine grants, debt and dedicated instruments. A complete funding file is built collectively.
Learning objectives
- Characterise the expected cash flows of a decarbonisation project
- Quantify energy savings as a source of repayment
- Combine grants, bank debt and dedicated instruments
- Incorporate lenders' non-financial requirements into the file
- Present a transition project to a financing committee
