Description
IT Project Management: Defining Requirements, Planning and Steering Deliverables
Lead an IT project from requirements definition through to user acceptance without losing control
- 3 days — 21 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
IT projects rarely derail overnight: the requirement was captured too quickly, effort was estimated loosely, and acceptance testing is discovered the day before go-live. The new project manager then inherits trade-off decisions without the information needed to make them.
Three days to cover the full IT project cycle: scoping, estimating, planning, steering and acceptance. Unlike a programme built around a single certifying method, this course stays practical and draws on the tools teams actually use day to day.
Learning objectives
- Turn a business requirement into specifications an delivery team can work from
- Estimate the effort of a work package and build a realistic schedule
- Identify IT project risks and plan how they will be handled
- Run progress reviews and report on project status
- Organise acceptance testing and the go-live of an application
