Description
AI for Lawyers: Understanding the Use Cases, Writing Prompts and Verifying Outputs
One day to learn what these tools can genuinely do and what a lawyer must never entrust to them
- 1 day — 7 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Firms hear about tools able to summarise a ruling, suggest a clause or draft a memo. Trials produce results that look convincing in form yet are sometimes wrong in substance: a single citation that does not exist is enough to discredit a piece of work and expose professional liability.
These 7 hours set the ground rules before any use on a live matter. Participants understand how these tools generate an answer, learn to frame a precise legal instruction, practise systematic verification of every source cited and identify the information covered by professional secrecy that must never be shared with such tools.
Learning objectives
- Explain how a generative tool works and where its errors originate
- Write a legal instruction specifying the role, the context and the format
- Verify every reference and source cited as a matter of routine
- Identify information covered by professional secrecy and client confidentiality
- Select the firm's tasks best suited to a first deployment
