Description

Copyright and Image Rights: Identify, Secure and Publish with Confidence

Know what you may publish and under what conditions before releasing a visual or a text

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A photograph found online, a visual reused from a presentation, an employee filmed during a corporate event: content travels fast, and takedown requests or complaints arrive only after publication. Communication teams often decide under pressure, without knowing which rights are actually at stake.

Three hours in a virtual classroom to establish the essential concepts and the reflexes that go with them. Participants learn to identify the rights attached to a piece of content, to verify the permissions available and to respond when a third party challenges a publication.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the rights attached to a text, an image or a video
  • Distinguish between the author, the rights holder and the person depicted
  • Verify the conditions of use of a piece of content before publication
  • Draft a filming and publication consent form
  • Respond to a takedown request or a complaint

What makes this programme different

Concepts are addressed through real publication cases brought by the participants
A consent form template is built during the session
A pre-publication checklist is provided and discussed
