Description

Managing Senior Employees: Valuing Experience, Sustaining Motivation and Planning Succession

One day to sustain the engagement of experienced employees and organise the transfer of their knowledge

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

An experienced employee who knows the role better than their manager raises a particular question. What can be offered when promotion prospects are closed. How can their knowledge be passed on without giving them the feeling of being set aside.

One day to manage employees in the second half of their career. You examine what motivates them beyond hierarchical progression. You work on supporting changes in organisation and tools. You design a knowledge transfer arrangement that remains workable within day-to-day workloads.

Learning objectives

  • Analyse the engagement drivers specific to the second half of a career
  • Assign responsibilities that value experience without moving the employee away from core work
  • Support an experienced employee through a change of tool or organisation
  • Organise the transfer of knowledge held by only a few individuals
  • Conduct a discussion on prospects for the final years of working life

What makes this programme different

Work on the critical knowledge genuinely held within your own department
A knowledge transfer arrangement sized to fit day-to-day workloads
Practice in holding a career prospects discussion with an employee who has no promotion path
