Description
Multigenerational Teams: Understanding Expectations, Adapting and Building Cooperation
Two days to turn differences in expectations between age groups into practical complementarity
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Within a single team work people who relate to their jobs in very different ways. Some expect written instructions while others want to discuss the purpose behind the request. Tensions are rarely voiced directly; they surface instead as disengagement and criticism of how colleagues work.
Two days to manage a team where ages and career backgrounds are mixed. You analyse what genuinely divides your team members and what belongs to assumption. You adjust your team routines so that they work for everyone. You build working pairs that allow knowledge to travel in both directions.
Learning objectives
- Distinguish genuine differences in working practices from age-related stereotypes
- Analyse the work expectations voiced by each member of your team
- Adapt your team routines so they remain clear to everyone
- Organise two-way knowledge sharing between team members
- Address a tension whose cause is attributed to a generational gap
