Description

Psychosocial Risk Prevention Level 2: Building Your Action Plan and Organising Follow-Up

Move from a psychosocial risk assessment to actions that are genuinely implemented

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Expert
  • Up to 6 participants

The assessment has been carried out, the findings have been presented, and since then nothing has moved. The factors identified relate to work organisation and management practices, subjects nobody wants to open. The measures retained are limited to listening arrangements that leave the root causes untouched. The initiative loses its credibility.

This expert-level day picks up where the assessment ends. Participants learn to make use of findings that are sometimes uncomfortable, to arbitrate between measures addressing work organisation and individual support measures, to build a plan owned by the management line, to embed it in the organisation's occupational health and safety risk register, and to set up follow-up arrangements that last.

Learning objectives

  • Use assessment findings to prioritise risk factors
  • Distinguish primary, secondary and tertiary prevention measures when making trade-offs
  • Build an action plan that addresses work organisation
  • Embed findings and measures in the occupational health and safety risk register
  • Organise the governance of the plan and the involvement of the management line
  • Define follow-up indicators and the review cycle for the plan

What makes this programme different

Assessment findings brought by participants serve as the raw material for the trade-offs
Measures that amount to tertiary prevention alone are set aside and replaced
A follow-up system is built, with its governance bodies, its cycle and its indicators

Programme

1Making Use of the Assessment

Drawing meaning from uncomfortable findings

  • Cross-reading of quantitative data and verbatim comments
  • Prioritisation of factors according to exposure and severity
  • Identification of the work situations to be addressed first
  • Reporting to governance bodies and handling defensive reactions

2Building the Action Plan

Acting on the organisation, not only on individuals

  • Allocation of measures between primary, secondary and tertiary prevention
  • Measures addressing workload, autonomy, support and recognition
  • Trade-offs between expected effect, feasibility and timescale
  • Formalising measures with an owner, resources and a deadline
  • Integration into the occupational health and safety risk register and the annual prevention programme

3Rolling Out and Sustaining the Plan

Holding the line beyond the first few months

  • Governance of the plan: steering committee, roles and meeting cycle
  • Involvement of the management line and tools for managers
  • Communication to employees at key milestones
  • Implementation indicators and outcome indicators
  • Periodic review and updating of the plan

Who is it for

Health and safety practitioners and workplace wellbeing officers who have conducted an assessment, together with HR directors and members of psychosocial risk steering committees.
