Description
Field Service Technicians: Communicating, Explaining and Building Customer Trust
Turning every technical site visit into a moment that strengthens the customer's confidence in your company
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
The technician is often the only representative of the company the customer ever meets. Technical competence is rarely the issue, yet the visit is judged on other things: how the technician introduces himself, the state of the site on departure, the words used to explain the fault, and the way a missing part or a revised quotation is announced.
Two days to establish a consistent site-visit sequence whatever the fault, translate technical vocabulary into language the customer understands, write a service report the customer can actually read, and hold a position in the face of dissatisfaction without constantly referring the matter back to the office.
Learning objectives
- Manage each stage of a customer site visit from arrival to sign-off
- Explain a fault and the chosen solution in accessible language
- Announce a delay, an additional cost or an impossibility without becoming defensive
- Gather the information needed for diagnosis through structured questioning
- Handle a dissatisfied customer during the intervention
- Pass on commercial information identified in the field to the office
