Description

Career Development Reviews: Framing, Equipping and Leveraging

One day to turn career development reviews into a managed process rather than a box-ticking exercise

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Reviews are held because they are expected, and the write-ups sit forgotten in a folder. Development wishes expressed by employees go nowhere. When the time comes to take stock, HR discovers incomplete campaigns and employees who have never been seen at all.

This one-day programme is designed for HR professionals responsible for the process itself rather than for conducting individual reviews. It covers campaign framing, equipping line managers, the collective analysis of review records, and the link with learning and internal mobility. Participants build a campaign plan and a summary template for executive management.

Learning objectives

  • Position the career development review in relation to other internal reviews
  • Organise a review campaign and monitor its progress
  • Equip line managers and standardise interviewing practices
  • Leverage review records to feed the skills development plan
  • Prepare the consolidated review of an employee's career path

What makes this programme different

A campaign plan built with its schedule and follow-up milestones
A template for the collective analysis of employee development wishes
Practical handling of situations that stall campaigns such as long absences
