Description

Successful Recruitment: Defining the Profile, Questioning in Interview and Deciding

Three days focused on the interview so that you stop hiring on impression and make decisions you can defend

  • 3 days — 21 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

An interview goes well. The conversation flows and the decision is made within minutes. A few months later the expected skills are simply not there. The discussion had revolved around career history and mutual rapport without ever verifying what the candidate can actually do in the situations the role demands.

These 21 hours concentrate on selection and decision-making rather than on the entire process. You translate the role into observable criteria. You build an interview framework and questions based on situations the candidate has genuinely experienced. You practise listening and recording what was actually said. You learn to compare assessments between interviewers and to make the final decision on solid ground.

Learning objectives

  • Translate the requirements of a role into observable selection criteria
  • Build an interview framework based on real professional situations
  • Question a candidate to obtain facts rather than intentions
  • Assess applications using a scoring grid shared by all interviewers
  • Identify the biases that distort the decision and correct them
  • Keep questions and collected information within an appropriate and fair framework

What makes this programme different

Each participant conducts several filmed interviews over the three days
Candidates played by the trainer with deliberately ambiguous profiles
