Description

Artificial Intelligence: Understanding Uses, Testing Tools and Grasping the Limits

Understand what a generative AI tool actually does and identify the uses that genuinely serve your role

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Artificial intelligence entered organisations through individual use long before any formal decision was taken. Some employees use assistants every day, others have never opened one, and many still confuse automation with content generation. Conversations swing between inflated promises and outright rejection.

Three virtual hours to establish a shared baseline: what these technologies actually cover, what they can do well, what they get wrong, and how to use them without exposing the organisation. The session alternates plain-language explanation with hands-on use of tools so that each participant forms an opinion grounded in experience.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish between automation, machine learning and content generation
  • Explain in general terms how a conversational assistant works
  • Identify relevant use cases within your own scope of work
  • Spot inaccurate outputs and bias in a generated response
  • Apply the necessary precautions regarding data shared with a tool

What makes this programme different

Every concept is tested immediately through hands-on use of a tool
Errors produced by the models are demonstrated and then analysed
Each participant leaves with two use cases identified for their own role

Programme

1What are we actually talking about

Putting the terminology back in order

  • Distinguish between automation, learning and content generation
  • Understand how a model is trained
  • Locate the data used and where it comes from
  • Spot the AI features already embedded in everyday tools

2Working with an assistant

Seeing it for yourself

  • Frame a clear and well-contextualised request
  • Obtain a rewrite, a summary or an outline
  • Rework an unsatisfactory response
  • Compare two tools on the same request

3Limits and precautions

Using these tools without creating risk

  • Identify false answers and fabricated statements
  • Spot bias in the content produced
  • Protect confidential and personal data
  • Locate the applicable internal rules within your organisation

Who is it for

Employees from all departments, managers and support functions who wish to understand artificial intelligence before applying it to their work.
