Description
Consumer Credit: Understanding the Framework, Building and Presenting a Credit File
Build the core reflexes for assembling and selling a consumer credit facility in branch
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
An adviser receives a credit request and must simultaneously verify repayment capacity, explain an offer and comply with disclosure obligations whose omission exposes the institution. Documents are missing, the real need is not always the one expressed, and optional insurance is presented too quickly or not at all.
This two-month programme covers the fundamentals of the role. Participants learn to position the different forms of consumer credit and the obligations attached to them, to collect and verify the components of a credit file, then practise presenting an offer and formalising the customer's agreement.
Learning objectives
- Distinguish the forms of consumer credit and their appropriate uses
- Apply the information and explanation obligations owed to the borrower
- Collect and verify the supporting documents that make up a credit file
- Assess repayment capacity based on income and commitments
- Present an offer and formalise the customer's agreement
