Description
Real Estate Development Finance: Analysing, Structuring and Securing the Transaction
Read a developer's feasibility budget and take a financing decision with full sight of where the project can break
- 1 day — 7 h
- In-person or virtual
- Expert
- Up to 6 participants
A property development is financed against future cash flows and against assumptions. The developer's feasibility budget shows a comfortable margin for as long as the sales pace holds, construction costs do not drift and the permit is not challenged. A financier who cannot stress-test those assumptions discovers the risk only at the drawdown request or when the site comes to a halt.
This seven-hour programme is designed for experienced practitioners. Participants analyse a developer's feasibility budget and cash flow plan, structure the development facility and its security package, and put in place monitoring of the project through to handover and repayment.
Learning objectives
- Analyse a developer's feasibility budget and identify the decisive assumptions
- Assess the robustness of the legal structure and of the project schedule
- Structure the development facility and the drawdown plan
- Define an appropriate security package and the conditions for putting it in place
- Set drawdown conditions linked to sales performance and construction progress
- Organise monitoring of the project through to handover and repayment
