Description
Socially Responsible Investment: Distinguishing, Analysing and Reporting
Tell responsible investment approaches apart and understand what each one actually commits you to
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Socially responsible investment is requested by clients and advertised by asset managers, yet the same wording covers very different practices. A sector exclusion, a best-in-class selection and an impact strategy involve neither the same analytical work nor the same outcomes.
This short format sets out the key reference points. Participants distinguish the main responsible investment approaches, understand how non-financial data is produced and used in security selection, then examine how a fund reports on its approach and the risks attached to overstated communication.
Learning objectives
- Distinguish the main socially responsible investment approaches
- Explain how non-financial data is produced and rated
- Analyse the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria into an investment process
- Read a fund's documentation to identify its actual approach
- Identify gaps between stated commitments and the investment management actually carried out
- Position the transparency obligations applying to asset management companies
