Description

Canva for Beginners: Creating Visuals, Structuring Your Brand and Publishing

Produce clean and consistent visuals yourself with no prior graphic design skills

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

In many organisations, communication visuals are produced under time pressure by people for whom design is not their core role: distorted posters, unreadable text, colours that change from one document to the next, and formats unsuited to the publishing channel. The result costs time and blurs the organisation's image.

This one-day programme lays the foundations of Canva: navigating the interface, selecting and customising templates, basic layout rules, saving brand assets and exporting in the right formats. Each participant leaves with several finished visuals.

Learning objectives

  • Navigate the Canva workspace and organise projects and folders
  • Customise a template without degrading its layout
  • Apply readability hierarchy and alignment rules to a visual
  • Save the organisation's colours fonts and logos for reuse
  • Export a visual in the format suited to its publishing channel

What makes this programme different

Each participant leaves with a poster a social media post and a document in their organisation's colours
The visuals produced are projected and reviewed collectively against readability criteria
A quick-reference sheet of export formats by channel is built during the day
