Description

PowerPoint: Building, Formatting and Delivering a Clear Presentation

Produce a readable deck in an hour instead of an evening spent wrestling with formatting

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Decks are built slide after slide with no outline. Titles change size from one page to the next, logos shift position and every amendment has to be repeated by hand across dozens of slides. On presentation day the file displays poorly on the meeting room screen and the speaker's notes cannot be found.

This one-day introduction provides the techniques that save time. Participants build their outline in outline view, apply a slide master and layouts to standardise formatting, insert tables, images and charts, then prepare for delivery using presenter view and handout printing.

Learning objectives

  • Create a structured presentation using outline view
  • Apply a slide master and layouts to standardise formatting
  • Insert and format images, tables, charts and shapes
  • Animate a slide and sequence transitions with restraint
  • Deliver in presenter view and print suitable handouts

What makes this programme different

A complete presentation is built from outline to delivery during the day
The slide master is edited to see the immediate effect across the whole document
Display settings are tested on an external screen or through screen sharing
