Description

OneDrive: Sync, Organise and Share Your Documents

Three hours to access your files from any device without multiplying local copies

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Working documents sit on the desktop, a copy sleeps on a USB stick and versions circulate as attachments emailed to oneself. The day the device is replaced or fails, part of the work disappears. The online storage space provided by the company is used as nothing more than a backup drive.

These 3 hours establish simple, lasting habits. Participants distinguish their personal space from team spaces, configure folder synchronisation, share a document by link with the appropriate permissions and restore a deleted file or an earlier version.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish a personal storage space from shared team spaces
  • Synchronise folders between the workstation and the online space
  • Organise folders and free up space on the local drive
  • Share a file by link while setting permissions and access duration
  • Restore a deleted file or an earlier version

What makes this programme different

Synchronisation set up on the participant's own device during the session
A written decision rule separating personal files from team files
Restoring a deleted file practised hands-on by every participant
