Description

PowerPoint — Building a Slide Deck: Creating Slides, Adding Visuals and Presenting

Produce a clear presentation from start to finish, even if you have never opened a presentation tool

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A presentation is requested for next week. The file is started and then abandoned because it is unclear where to place a title, how to insert an image or how to change the colours. The work is eventually handed over to someone else. The tool ends up being used as a word processor that happens to be projected.

These 14 hours start from zero. Participants create slides, insert text, images, tables and diagrams, apply a consistent theme and then prepare the on-screen delivery. The common thread is one complete presentation, built step by step and presented to the group by each participant at the end of the session.

Learning objectives

  • Create a presentation and organise its slides
  • Enter and format text within a slide
  • Insert images, tables and simple diagrams
  • Apply a theme to achieve a consistent look
  • Prepare and run the delivery of a presentation
  • Print or share a document in the expected format
