Description

Generative AI for Professional Coaching: Preparing, Structuring and Safeguarding

Using generative AI for session preparation and follow-up without bringing the client into the tool

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Coaches are trialling generative assistants to prepare a session, reword notes or produce a summary. Two risks emerge quickly: the confidentiality of what the client says and the standardisation of the questions asked. Without clear rules, the tool ends up impoverishing the practice instead of supporting it.

One day to establish what these tools genuinely bring to the coach and what they must not do. Participants work on writing useful instructions, on preparation and follow-up use cases, then on the rules protecting client data. The content of the relationship remains outside the scope of the tool.

Learning objectives

  • Identify generative AI use cases compatible with coaching practice
  • Write instructions that produce usable outputs
  • Use the tool to prepare a session and structure your notes
  • Protect personal data and what the client shares in confidence
  • Spot uses that conflict with the ethical framework of coaching

What makes this programme different

Use cases are tested live on real session-preparation situations
Each participant produces a written usage rule
Client statements and data are treated as outside the tool's scope

Programme

1Positioning the tool within your practice

What AI can do and what it will not do

  • Distinguish between preparation, follow-up and production uses
  • Identify what belongs to the relationship and stays outside the tool
  • Recognise frequent errors and approximations
  • Check an output before using it

2Writing your instructions

Obtaining a usable result

  • Structure an instruction with context, role and expected format
  • Provide examples to frame the result
  • Iterate to correct an unsatisfactory output
  • Build a library of reusable instructions

3Safeguarding data

Protecting what the client shares

  • Identify data that must never be entered into a tool
  • Anonymise a situation before any use
  • Inform the client about your use of digital tools
  • Formalise your own usage rule
