Description

Theatre Techniques: Voice Projection, Stage Presence and Audience Engagement

Borrowing from the actor's craft what makes professional speaking alive and assured

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Many professional presentations are technically correct yet leave no trace. The voice stays low, the body freezes behind the table, the eyes drift to the ceiling or to the notes. The audience disengages long before the end, and the speaker never quite understands why.

This 14-hour programme is delivered in person and draws on theatre practice applied to the workplace. Vocal warm-ups, body work, guided improvisation and filmed run-throughs follow one another across two days. There is no script to learn and no acting talent is expected of participants.

Learning objectives

  • Project your voice and vary its intensity according to the size of the room
  • Use the space and your physical grounding during a presentation
  • Sustain eye contact with the audience throughout your intervention
  • Manage stage fright through preparation routines used before speaking
  • Improvise a short answer without breaking contact with the audience

What makes this programme different

Two days of exercises performed standing, with very little time seated
Filmed run-throughs reviewed in small groups with clear instructions for a second attempt
Improvisations built from participants' real workplace situations
