Description

Speaking in Public and One-to-One: Adjusting Your Posture, Tone and Message

Two days in person to move from addressing a group to leading a one-to-one conversation

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • All levels
  • Up to 6 participants

A single working day can bring very different situations: presenting a project to thirty people in the morning, then persuading one person in the afternoon. What works in front of a group feels heavy in a one-to-one meeting, and being comfortable across a table is not enough to hold a room.

This 14-hour in-person programme works on both configurations and on the transition between them. Participants practise adapting their posture, volume and level of detail to the number of people in front of them, listening and drawing out a single counterpart, and staying in control when an exchange becomes tense. The programme welcomes participants with varying levels of experience.

Learning objectives

  • Adapt posture and volume to the number of people present
  • Structure a short message for a group and then rework it for an individual meeting
  • Listen and draw out a single counterpart without monopolising the conversation
  • Respond to an interruption or a disagreement without losing the thread
  • Identify personal strengths and points requiring attention when speaking

What makes this programme different

Every situation is performed twice: in front of the group and then one-to-one
An in-person format allowing real work on posture and physical distance
A written individual review provided at the end of the second day
