Description

Public Speaking: Preparing Your Talk, Pacing It and Carrying the Room

Design and deliver a structured talk that keeps your audience engaged from start to finish

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Presenting a project to an audience takes far more than a slide deck. An unclear structure, a rushed delivery or a conclusion cut short are enough to lose the room, even when the content itself is sound. The aim here is not to overcome nerves but to build and sustain a talk.

A short, technique-focused format: structuring the content, working on the voice, managing visual support and handling questions. Each participant prepares a talk, delivers it to the group and reworks it on the basis of the feedback received.

Learning objectives

  • Structure a talk suited to its duration and its audience
  • Write an opening and a closing that leave a mark
  • Use your voice, eye contact and posture to support the message
  • Align the spoken message with the projected slides
  • Lead a question-and-answer sequence

What makes this programme different

Each participant delivers their talk and then performs it again after group feedback
The slide deck is reworked to fit the message rather than the other way round
The question sequence is run with questions prepared by the group
