Description
Webinars: Designing the Format, Hosting Live and Converting Registrants
Two days to build a webinar that holds its audience to the end and keeps working long after the broadcast
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Webinars have become a reflex: open a virtual room, share a deck and talk for forty minutes. The usual outcome is half the registrants absent, participants dropping off after ten minutes, a silent chat window and a recording nobody watches.
These 14 hours treat the webinar as a format in its own right rather than a filmed meeting. The programme covers topic selection and value promise, writing a timed running order, pace and interaction, audio and video settings, two-person hosting, then converting registrants once the session is over. Every participant hosts a short webinar in front of the group.
Learning objectives
- Express the promise of a webinar in a single participant-focused sentence
- Write a timed running order alternating presentation, demonstration and interaction
- Set up framing, sound and lighting for a live broadcast
- Host with two voices, sharing speaking time and chat monitoring
- Handle chat questions during the session without losing the thread
- Organise follow-up with both attendees and absentees after the broadcast
