Description
IFRS Standards e-learning: Navigating the Framework, Reading and Comparing Accounts
Find your way around the IFRS framework and read financial statements published under these standards
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
Financial statements published under IFRS can be disconcerting for anyone used to legacy local accounting practices. Line-item captions change, comprehensive income appears and fair value sometimes replaces historical cost. Discussions with a shareholder, an auditor or an overseas parent company become laborious for want of a shared vocabulary.
This is a short-format e-learning pathway to be followed at your own pace. You situate the framework and its conceptual basis. You review the standards that matter most when reading accounts. You identify the main differences with legacy local practices through commented examples.
Learning objectives
- Situate the IFRS framework and its conceptual basis
- Identify the required financial statements and how they fit together
- Recognise the standards that shape the reading of accounts
- Distinguish historical cost from fair value measurement
- Compare the same line item under legacy local practice and under IFRS
