Description

Sustainability Reporting: Scoping, Collecting and Publishing Your Data

Turning a sustainability disclosure obligation into a reliable and auditable data collection process

  • 0.75 days — 5.25 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • All levels
  • Up to 6 participants

Finance leaders are discovering that sustainability information must be traced as rigorously as the financial statements. The data already exists but sits scattered across human resources procurement and the operating sites, no one is clearly accountable for it, and the first collection attempts are run through spreadsheets with no audit trail.

These five virtual hours set out the method. Participants understand the architecture of sustainability reporting under international standards such as IFRS S1 and S2, run a double materiality assessment, identify the data points to be produced and organise collection with named owners and controls designed for third-party assurance.

Learning objectives

  • Position sustainability reporting within the annual disclosure cycle
  • Run a double materiality assessment and document the judgements made
  • Identify the data points required for the material topics selected
  • Build a collection plan with owners deadlines and controls
  • Prepare the supporting evidence expected during assurance work

What makes this programme different

The double materiality assessment is run on the participant's own material topics
Every data point selected is linked to a source and to a named owner
Consistency controls are defined before the first collection campaign
