Description

CSR and Financial Steering: Measuring, Budgeting and Reporting on Commitments

Bringing environmental and social issues into the budget, the reporting cycle and investment decisions

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Finance departments are being approached from every direction: indicators requested by clients, questionnaires from banks and additional criteria written into tender documents. The data already exists but remains scattered across procurement, human resources and operations. The finance function is expected to make it reliable even though it does not produce it.

Two days to organise this data collection and connect sustainability to performance steering: selecting indicators that genuinely support decisions, embedding them in the budget and the reporting cycle, costing the actions undertaken and their expected returns, then preparing responses to stakeholders. Each participant leaves with a dashboard template adapted to their own activity.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the non-financial indicators that are relevant to the company's activity
  • Organise the collection and validation of data from operational departments
  • Embed sustainability commitments in the budget process and periodic reporting
  • Assess the cost and expected effects of an environmental action plan
  • Prepare responses to requests from clients, banks and investors

What makes this programme different

Build a dashboard combining financial and non-financial indicators
Full costing of a consumption-reduction project together with its funding plan
Hands-on work on the sustainability questionnaires received by participants
