Description

Artificial Intelligence for Municipal Leaders: Decide, Engage and Govern Its Use

Understand what artificial intelligence changes for running a municipality and for relations with residents

  • 0.5 days — 3.5 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Municipal leaders are asked to rule on artificial intelligence projects put forward by vendors or driven by internal departments, often without clear reference points to decide. At the same time, residents raise questions about cameras, algorithms used to process service requests and the use of their data, and the official position must hold up in council sessions as well as in community meetings.

This three-and-a-half-hour session focuses on the municipality and on the relationship with residents. It provides decision-making reference points for the municipal executive and prepares participants to speak before the council, community groups and local residents on sensitive technical matters.

Learning objectives

  • Position AI use cases within the services delivered by a municipality
  • Decide between proposed projects in line with municipal resources
  • Govern usage through rules that residents can understand
