Description
Information System Data Flows: Mapping, Orchestrating and Securing Exchanges
Master exchanges between applications so that data arrives accurate, complete and on time
- 1 day — 7 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
An information system is built in successive layers: packaged software, business applications, online services, data warehouses. Exchanges multiply in the form of overnight file transfers, interface calls and replications. When a figure is wrong at the end of the chain, no one can say where it was corrupted or who is accountable for it.
This one-day programme addresses the structuring of exchanges: flow mapping, choosing between batch processing and real-time exchange, the role of integration buses and gateways, interface contracts, rejection handling and monitoring. Participants map a real application perimeter and define the corresponding target exchange architecture.
Learning objectives
- Map the data flows exchanged between the applications of the information system
- Choose between batch processing and real-time exchange according to the business need
- Define an interface contract and the associated format rules
- Organise rejection handling and the recovery of failed processing runs
- Put in place monitoring and quality indicators for data exchanges
- Address traceability and the protection of data in transit
