Description

Manager Effectiveness: Setting Priorities, Keeping Commitments and Protecting Your Energy

Two days to become more effective on what genuinely depends on your own behaviour

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

A manager's day fills up with interruptions, urgent requests and meetings. By the evening, the substantive topics have not moved forward and the catch-ups promised to team members have been postponed once again. The issue rarely lies with organisation tools but with the way decisions are made, requests are declined and commitments are honoured.

These two days focus on the behavioural effectiveness of the manager. You will work on prioritisation trade-offs, handling incoming requests, regulating your reactions under pressure and the reliability of the commitments you make to your team.

Learning objectives

  • Analyse how your management time is actually spent over one week
  • Arbitrate between competing requests by making your criteria explicit
  • Formulate a refusal or a postponement to your line management and your team
  • Regulate your reactions in situations of pressure
  • Honour the commitments made to your team members

What makes this programme different

An analysis of your real week based on your own calendar
Exercises on last-minute requests
A change commitment tested with the group before returning to work
