Description
Procedure Writing: Capturing Know-How, Structuring and Rolling Out
Turning knowledge held by a handful of people into clear procedures that are genuinely used
- 3 days — 21 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
An organisation's know-how often rests with a few individuals. One departure or a long absence and operations start to seize up. Existing procedures do not always help: too long, written by people who do not perform the work, never updated and therefore ignored.
Three days to build a documentation framework that actually works: identify the activities worth formalising, capture real working practice from the people who do the job, select the right document format, write in operational terms, then organise distribution, updating and application checks.
Learning objectives
- Identify the activities where formalisation delivers a real gain
- Capture actual practice from the people who carry out the work
- Select the document format suited to each use
- Write a clear and verifiable operational procedure
- Organise distribution, updating and application checks for the framework
