Description

Training Evaluation and Generative AI: Design, Analyse and Validate

Use generative AI to build meaningful evaluations and make real use of learner feedback

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Training evaluation is too often reduced to a satisfaction questionnaire that is read once and then filed away. The same questions are reused from one session to the next, open comments are never exploited, and nothing indicates whether learning has genuinely taken place. Trainers rarely have the time to design sharper evaluation tools or to process the responses.

This three-hour workshop shows how generative AI helps design questions aligned with learning objectives and then analyse open-ended responses. It also addresses the limitations of the tool: biased wording, data confidentiality and the need for systematic human review.

Learning objectives

  • Link each evaluation item to a defined learning objective
  • Write generative AI prompts suited to question production
  • Review and correct the questions produced by the tool
  • Use open-ended responses to identify trends
  • Identify the limitations and confidentiality precautions to observe

What makes this programme different

Prompts submitted to the tool are written and then improved live
Generated questions are systematically checked against learning objectives
Wording biases produced by the tool are spotted using real examples

Programme

1What You Are Actually Evaluating

Setting the objective before the tool

  • Evaluation levels from satisfaction to on-the-job impact
  • Alignment between learning objectives and evaluation items
  • Choosing when to evaluate within the learning journey
  • Limitations of stand-alone satisfaction questionnaires

2Designing with Generative AI

Generate first, then correct

  • Structure of an effective prompt addressed to the tool
  • Producing closed questions and problem-based scenarios
  • Detecting ambiguous or leading wording
  • Human review and adjustment to the target audience

3Analysing Feedback

Making something of open responses

  • Thematic grouping of open comments
  • Spotting weak signals and isolated feedback
  • Confidentiality and anonymisation precautions
  • Reporting results back to the sponsor
