Description

Artificial Intelligence in Recruitment: Assessing Tools, Setting Controls and Making the Call

Two days to decide whether a CV screening tool belongs in your selection process

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Expert
  • Up to 6 participants

Application screening and assisted interview tools are multiplying and executive teams expect time savings. The recruitment lead must state whether a tool is acceptable without being able to open up how it works or know what data it was built on. A rejected candidate may ask for an explanation.

These 14 hours are designed for experienced recruitment professionals. Participants build a method for assessing tools, examine the mechanisms through which bias is reproduced at scale, define what must remain a human decision and prepare the information owed to candidates. The ethical framework is treated as a decision-making tool.

Learning objectives

  • Assess an application screening or evaluation tool against explicit criteria
  • Identify the mechanisms through which bias is reproduced in an automated process
  • Define what must remain a human decision within a selection process
  • Prepare the information provided to candidates on the use of these tools
  • Build an audit grid applicable to tools already in service
  • Argue the case for rejecting a tool before an executive team expecting time savings

What makes this programme different

A tool assessment grid built and then applied to a real case brought by the participant
Automated screening runs replayed to show exactly where bias takes hold
A rejection case prepared and then delivered to an executive team under time pressure
