Description

Pay Transparency: Building Reliable Data, Calculating and Reporting Pay Gaps

Seven hours to prepare your payroll data before you have to report pay gaps you do not fully control

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Reporting pay gap indicators places HR data under the spotlight. Yet job titles are rarely harmonised, allowances sit in inconsistent payroll elements, and part-time arrangements distort comparisons. The calculation then reveals gaps that stem as much from data quality as from actual pay practices.

These seven hours are designed for professionals already familiar with payroll and workforce analytics. The work focuses on data preparation and calculation simulation. Participants identify unjustified gaps and then build the correction plan that will accompany publication.

Learning objectives

  • Audit the quality of compensation data before running any indicator
  • Build comparable job categories based on documented criteria
  • Simulate a pay gap calculation and analyse the results
  • Distinguish a gap explained by objective factors from a gap requiring correction
  • Build a correction plan with a timeline and control points
  • Prepare the presentation of results to senior management and employee representatives

What makes this programme different

A data audit carried out on an anonymised payroll extract provided during the session
A step-by-step method for building comparable job categories
A structured correction plan presented and defended before the group
