Description

Site Security and Malicious Acts: Identify Risks, Protect Premises and Respond

Spot the early warning signs of malicious behaviour and know what to do before an incident escalates

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Malicious acts rarely exploit a technical flaw. They exploit a storeroom left unlocked, a shared access card or a visitor walking unescorted through a restricted zone. Teams know how to react to a fire alarm yet remain uncertain when faced with an intrusion, an internal theft or an unattended item. Instructions usually exist but are neither known nor applied day to day.

In three hours delivered virtually, this session sets out the vocabulary of site security, distinguishes the main types of hostile act and provides a practical grid for reading the vulnerabilities of a site. Each participant leaves with the reporting reflexes and the first protective measures that apply to their own workstation.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish the main forms of malicious act targeting a site
  • Identify the vulnerabilities of an access point and of a visitor flow
  • Apply access control rules and access card wearing requirements
  • Report suspicious behaviour or an unattended item through the internal escalation chain
  • Adopt the correct conduct when facing an intrusion or a direct threat

What makes this programme different

Each participant maps the entry points of their own site
Role-play exercises are based on intrusion and unattended item scenarios
The internal escalation chain is drafted during the session so it can be displayed at the workstation
