Description

Workplace Wellbeing and Working Conditions: Building an Action Plan and Tracking the Right Indicators

Move from workplace wellbeing intentions to a dated action plan, properly resourced and monitored through meaningful indicators

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • All levels
  • Up to 6 participants

Many workplace wellbeing initiatives stop once the internal survey is complete. Results are presented, a few social activities are launched, and nothing shifts on what really weighs on people: workload, organisation and the room for manoeuvre available to teams.

These two days are devoted to building the action plan and its dashboard: selecting priority workstreams, drafting verifiable actions, allocating roles, aligning with internal committees and ongoing discussions, then choosing indicators that reflect genuine change in working conditions.

Learning objectives

  • Identify priority workplace wellbeing workstreams from available data
  • Formulate actions that address work itself and how it is organised
  • Allocate roles between management, line managers and employee representatives
  • Select deployment and outcome indicators suited to each action
  • Build a dashboard and a review rhythm for the plan

What makes this programme different

Actions sorted according to their expected effect on real work rather than on mood
Annotated indicator library followed by a reasoned selection made by each participant
Drafting of the action plan for your own organisation during the session

Programme

1Starting from the findings

From diagnosis to priorities

  • Using HR data and field feedback already available
  • Distinguishing one-off irritants from organisational root causes
  • Identifying the most exposed work situations
  • Selecting priority workstreams with stakeholders

2Drafting the action plan

Actions that commit the organisation

  • Framing actions that address the organisation and content of work
  • Naming owners and the resources allocated to them
  • Realistic deadlines and intermediate milestones
  • Alignment with the workplace risk assessment and ongoing discussions
  • Approval by management and presentation to internal committees

3Choosing the indicators

Measuring effect, not activity

  • Difference between deployment indicators and outcome indicators
  • Indicators on absence, career paths and occupational health
  • Indicators drawn from real work such as interruptions or deadlines met
  • Capturing perceptions through short and repeated questionnaires
  • Pitfalls of isolated indicators and inappropriate comparisons

4Steering over time

Keeping the initiative alive

  • Building the dashboard and setting the review rhythm
  • The role of managers in rolling out actions
  • Communicating results to teams
  • Adjusting actions that produce no effect
  • Embedding workplace wellbeing in transformation projects

Who is it for

Workplace wellbeing leads, HR directors, health and safety practitioners, employee representatives and managers involved in a working conditions initiative.
