Description

Employee Relations: Supporting Representative Bodies, Preparing Meetings and Managing Files

Holding the discreet yet decisive role of the assistant in the functioning of employee representative bodies

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

The assistant receives requests from employee representatives, prepares notices of meeting, formats minutes and files documents without always knowing what is mandatory, what is confidential and what can wait. A notice sent too late or a document addressed to the wrong recipient is enough to strain an already delicate working climate.

These two days provide the practical reference points for the role. Participants situate employee representative bodies and their remit, organise the annual employee relations calendar, prepare meetings and the files issued to representatives, draft accurate minutes and manage the confidentiality and archiving of employee relations documents.

Learning objectives

  • Situate employee representative bodies and their areas of involvement
  • Organise the annual calendar of meetings and consultations
  • Prepare a committee meeting from the notice of meeting to the circulation of documents
  • Draft accurate minutes that participants can actually use
  • Manage the confidentiality and archiving of employee relations documents

What makes this programme different

An annual employee relations calendar is built and then adapted to each participant's context
Minutes brought in by the group are reworked for accuracy and concision
Confidentiality situations are addressed from real cases raised by participants
