Description
Insurance Distribution: Understanding the Market and Applying Conduct Obligations
Build a clear view of the insurance market and of the obligations that frame every act of distribution
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Distributing insurance requires an understanding of who carries the risk, who distributes it and who supervises the activity. Many employees sell policies without being able to situate the role of the insurer, the broker or the appointed agent, nor the obligations attached to their own status. Documents are handed over out of habit, without their purpose being understood.
This short-format programme sets out those reference points. Participants identify the market players and the mechanics of insurance, situate the different distribution statuses and their requirements, then connect each stage of the client relationship to the applicable information, advice and record-keeping obligations.
Learning objectives
- Identify the players in the insurance market and their respective roles
- Explain the mechanics of risk pooling and pricing
- Distinguish the different distribution statuses and their associated obligations
- Apply pre-contractual information obligations to each sale
- Record the collection of client requirements and the advice provided
