Description
Insurance Distribution Conduct Rules: Assessing Practices, Adapting Them and Evidencing Compliance
Bring the distribution network into compliance without weighing down every sales conversation
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Insurance distribution conduct requirements have been presented in internal meetings, but what they mean in commercial practice remains unclear. Standardised documents are handed over without explanation, the record of customer requirements amounts to a few ticked boxes, and the justification of advice is reduced to a standard sentence. Internal reviews keep identifying incomplete files.
This one-day programme is designed for professionals who already distribute insurance contracts. It works through the sales journey step by step to position each obligation: pre-contractual information, needs assessment, formalisation of advice, oversight of the products distributed and the audit trail expected when a file is reviewed.
Learning objectives
- Position insurance distribution obligations at each stage of the sales journey
- Formalise the record of the customer's requirements and needs
- Draft a reasoned and defensible statement of advice
- Apply product oversight arrangements to the offer being distributed
- Organise file traceability in preparation for a review
