Description

OneNote: Structuring Notebooks, Sharing and Retrieving Information

One day to stop hunting for your notes and give every piece of information a proper place

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Meeting notes tend to live everywhere: a paper pad, a message sent to yourself, a file saved on the desktop. Three weeks later, nobody can find the decision that was taken or the name of the supplier mentioned. The colleague who was away that day leaves with nothing, and the same item comes back on the agenda.

This 7-hour programme puts a single, consistent organisation in place in OneNote. Participants build the structure of their notebooks, learn to capture text, screen captures and attached documents, and then retrieve information through search and tags. Sharing with the team and linking to Outlook complete the day.

Learning objectives

  • Structure a notebook into sections and pages suited to your activity
  • Enter and format notes that are typed, handwritten or imported
  • Retrieve information using search and tags
  • Share a notebook and track changes made by participants
  • Link OneNote to Outlook to follow up meetings and tasks

What makes this programme different

A departmental notebook built during the session from your own working files
A tagging system tested on real notes brought by participants
The Outlook link set up on one of your recurring meetings
