Description
AutoCAD — Technical Drawings: Open, Measure and Annotate in Three Hours
Read a drawing issued by the design office and add your comments without going back to the draughtsman
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
A drawing arrives from the design office or the architect. A dimension needs checking, a piece of equipment needs locating and a comment needs to be passed back. Without the ability to handle the file, the drawing is printed, marked up in pencil and scanned again. The round trip takes several days for a simple question and the comment is often lost along the way.
This short three-hour virtual format has a single aim: becoming self-sufficient when reviewing a drawing. Opening the file, navigating within the drawing, showing or hiding layers, measuring a distance, then adding a note or a marker and returning the annotated drawing in a format every recipient can read.
Learning objectives
- Open a drawing and navigate within it using zoom and pan
- Show and hide layers to isolate the information you are looking for
- Measure a distance and read an existing dimension
- Add text, an arrow or a comment marker to the drawing
- Export and send an annotated drawing in a format the recipient can open
