Description

Canva — Online Brand Guidelines: Setting Rules, Building Templates and Sharing Them

Three hours to ensure every document produced by your team stays instantly recognisable without going through a designer

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Since everyone started creating visuals independently, the logo gets stretched on a poster, six typefaces sit side by side in the same brochure and the colours are approximate. The person responsible for communication spends their time correcting after the fact and sometimes simply gives up. Externally, the organisation no longer looks like itself from one document to the next.

These 3 hours are used to set workable rules and make them automatic. Each participant formalises the elements of their brand guidelines, saves their colour and font set, builds locked templates for their most common formats and organises sharing with occasional contributors.

Learning objectives

  • Formalise the constituent elements of a set of brand guidelines
  • Configure a colour and font set that the whole team can reuse
  • Build templates for the formats produced most frequently
  • Organise folders and access rights within a team workspace
  • Check a visual for compliance before it is published

What makes this programme different

Two templates in the formats you actually use, built during the session
An organised team library with its own file-naming rules
A one-page pre-publication check sheet
