Description

Teams — Online Team Workspace: Organising Channels, Meeting and Sharing Files

Three hours to move beyond a disorganised message flow and bring conversations back to where they matter

  • 0.43 days — 3 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

Exchanges happen in scattered private messages. A decision taken between two people never reaches the rest of the department, files circulate as email attachments and impromptu meetings leave no record. Everyone receives notifications all day long without knowing which ones deserve to be opened.

These 3 hours establish shared working practices within the team workspace. Participants learn to distinguish between a channel and a private message, organise a channel around a single topic, run an online meeting through to a record of decisions, co-edit a file without attachments, and then configure their own notifications.

Learning objectives

  • Distinguish the respective uses of teams, channels and private conversations
  • Organise a channel and its tabs around a specific work topic
  • Run an online meeting through to a record of decisions
  • Share and co-edit a file directly from the team workspace
  • Configure notifications and status settings to protect your working time

What makes this programme different

A written set of ground rules drafted by the group to distinguish channels from private messages
An online meeting run by each participant, including screen sharing
Notification settings configured device by device during the session
