Description

Written and Oral Communication: Structure Your Message, Write It and Deliver It

Working on both registers together so that one message holds up in writing and when spoken

  • 2 days — 14 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Foundation
  • Up to 6 participants

In the course of a single day, a professional drafts a note and then presents the same information in a meeting. The two exercises do not follow the same rules. Text that is too dense becomes unreadable on screen, and an improvised talk loses its thread after three minutes. The message then arrives weakened on both sides.

This 14-hour programme treats writing and speaking as two outputs of the same structuring work. The first day covers building and then drafting the message. The second day is devoted to delivering it aloud, with video recording and feedback from the group.

Learning objectives

  • Structure a message based on its objective and its audience
  • Draft a note in which the main message appears in the opening lines
  • Convert a written document into a five-minute presentation
  • Adapt vocabulary and pace to the audience in the room
  • Answer an unexpected question without losing the thread of the argument

What makes this programme different

One message worked through from outline to written note and then to spoken delivery
Two short video recordings followed by individual analysis
Documents brought by participants provide the material for the exercises
