Description

AI and KPIs: Analysing Indicators, Spotting Signals and Anticipating Trends

Use AI to analyse your indicators and identify turning points before they become visible

  • 1 day — 7 h
  • In-person or virtual
  • Intermediate
  • Up to 6 participants

Dashboards accumulate while their interpretation remains entirely manual. A decline is noticed long after it began, a variation is explained by the first available hypothesis, and forecasts often amount to little more than extending past trends.

This one-day virtual programme is designed for professionals who already produce or work with performance indicators. It shows how to query a dataset in natural language, surface correlations and trend breaks, build a well-argued projection and comment on a dashboard. The statistical limitations of such analyses are addressed throughout.

Learning objectives

  • Prepare a dataset suitable for AI-assisted analysis
  • Query your indicators in natural language to test hypotheses
  • Detect trend breaks and outliers
  • Build a projection and make its underlying assumptions explicit
  • Write an AI-assisted dashboard commentary
  • Identify conclusions that are not statistically sound

What makes this programme different

The short virtual format alternates demonstrations with hands-on work on a dataset provided
Each participant may work on their own indicators
The most common interpretation errors are exposed through practice

Programme

1Preparing Data and Indicators

No reliable analysis without clean data

  • Quality and structuring of a dataset
  • Definition and scope of the indicators tracked
  • Historical depth required to observe a trend
  • Importing and connecting data to the tool

2AI-Assisted KPI Analysis

Questioning your figures differently

  • Natural-language questions applied to a dataset
  • Detecting trend breaks and outliers
  • Identifying correlations and contribution by segment
  • Comparing periods and analysing variances
  • Generating visualisations with commentary

3Anticipation and Reporting

Moving from observation to decision

  • Building a projection and selecting assumptions
  • Scenarios and sensitivity to key variables
  • Correlation mistaken for causation
  • Written dashboard commentary
  • Presenting conclusions to an executive committee
