Description
The Unexpected and Uncertainty: Absorbing the Shock, Deciding Without Certainty and Moving Forward
Two virtual days to navigate unexpected situations without freezing or deciding under pressure
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- All levels
- Up to 6 participants
A reorganisation is announced, a project is halted, a role changes shape: familiar reference points disappear faster than new ones can be built. Some people freeze, others rush about. In both cases, energy is spent waiting for information that never arrives.
This 14-hour programme is delivered virtually and draws on each participant's own account of events. By reconstructing changes they have already been through, participants identify their habitual reactions, recognise their resources and prepare ways of acting despite uncertainty. The work alternates between individual exercises and small-group discussion.
Learning objectives
- Describe your habitual reactions when faced with an unexpected situation
- Distinguish established facts from assumptions in an uncertain situation
- Identify the resources drawn upon during changes already experienced
- Choose a useful course of action despite incomplete information
- Build an account of your own journey that supports action
