Description
Feedback Culture: Giving, Receiving and Embedding Regular Feedback
Embed frequent and useful feedback within your team instead of saving remarks for the annual review
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
In many teams, feedback waits for the annual review. What could have been said in two minutes becomes an accumulated grievance, and what works well is never made explicit. Everyone moves forward without knowing precisely what effect their work has on others.
Three hours to practise formulating feedback grounded in facts, receiving it without becoming defensive and establishing short, regular check-ins. The short format prioritises practice over theory.
Learning objectives
- Formulate feedback grounded in observable facts
- Express a request for change without judging the person
- Receive critical feedback without immediately justifying yourself
- Establish a rhythm of regular feedback within your team
What makes this programme different
Programme
1What Blocks Feedback
Why we prefer to stay silent
- Identify the fears that prevent people from speaking up
- Measure the cost of unspoken issues within a team

2Giving Useful Feedback
Facts, consequence, request
- Describe the observed behaviour without attaching a label to it
- Express the effect produced in concrete terms
- Formulate a precise and negotiable request
- Acknowledge what works with the same precision
3Receiving and Sustaining Feedback
Feedback is cultivated over time
- Listen without interrupting or justifying yourself
- Ask questions to understand the underlying request
