Description
Oral Assessment Panels: Preparing Your Presentation, Handling the Panel and Staying Convincing
Prepare methodically for the oral assessment rather than relying on performing well on the day
- 2 days — 14 h
- In-person or virtual
- Foundation
- Up to 6 participants
An oral assessment is decided in a few minutes, in front of a panel whose exact expectations and level of scrutiny remain unknown. Many candidates who perform well on written tests arrive without having worked on their presentation, are thrown off balance by the first question and lose the thread of their own career story.
Two days to prepare the three components of the exercise: building a structured self-presentation, anticipating panel questions on your background and motivation, and working on posture and stress. Each participant takes part in several simulations followed by detailed feedback.
Learning objectives
- Analyse the expectations of an oral assessment and the panel's evaluation criteria
- Build a structured presentation within the allotted time
- Present your career path and motivation through precise examples
- Answer panel questions including those designed to unsettle you
- Manage stress and posture throughout the full duration of the assessment
