Description
Accounting Process Automation: Targeting, Tooling and Securing Transactions
Identify which accounting processes to automate first and secure what the system produces
- 0.43 days — 3 h
- In-person or virtual
- Intermediate
- Up to 6 participants
Accounting teams still spend considerable time re-keying invoices, reconciling bank statements line by line and rebuilding recurring entries every month. Automation is presented as the answer, yet projects often start with the tool rather than the process: a flawed workflow is digitised and the number of exceptions handled manually simply grows.
This three-hour session is designed for accountants and managers already in post. It teaches participants how to identify genuinely automatable processes, prepare the master data that determines the outcome and maintain appropriate controls once tasks are handed over to a system.
Learning objectives
- Map accounting processes according to their automation potential
- Assess the expected gain and the success conditions of an automation initiative
- Prepare the master data and business rules required
- Organise the handling of exceptions and rejected items
- Adapt the control framework to automatically generated entries
